Pre-clinical MRI Senior Scientist

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Senior Scientist with pre-clinical MR Imaging experience. The position is permanent in our in vivo pharmacology group starting September, 2020.

Job Description
We are looking for a skilled pre-clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging Senior Scientist with hands-on MRI experience, preferable within the field of oncology, inflammation or cardiovascular research. You will be part of our in vivo Pharmacology team and your main tasks will include planning, conduct, analysis and reporting of studies involving MR Imaging. Another aspect will be to provide input, knowledge and design of new pre-clinical studies and protocols involving MRI. This will also include novel and untested approaches.

The team members participate in several projects simultaneously and you will work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment. You will primarily be involved as an MRI specialist with responsibilities for MR imaging project tasks within in vivo pharmacology. A large part of the job will be setup and optimization of new MRI protocols, methods and data analyses.

Your Profile
You have a PhD degree in Biomedical Physics, Imaging Physics, Biomedical engineering or equivalent. You have a strong background in pre-clinical MR imaging and analysis techniques, and you have a solid understanding of MR physics. You have relevant experience with pre-clinical MR Imaging combined with in-depth, hands on working experience. You have excellent English communication skills, both written and oral, and you are an advanced user of MS Office and other relevant IT tools or systems.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Design, plan and execute pre-clinical in vivo pharmacology studies with an emphasis on MR imaging, mainly in the field of oncology, inflammation and cardiovascular research
  • Setup, establish and implement MR imaging and analysis techniques for pre-clinical drug discovery
  • Participate in internal research and development projects including collaborations with our academic partners
  • Provide expert MR Imaging knowhow and feedback
